Saturday February 21: Hotel Constantia Uitsig www.uitsig.co.za – L 09h30 arrive at La Colombe Restaurant, on the same property as our hotel, to meet the Chef of this famous restaurant, Luke Dale Roberts, for our first Hands-On cooking lesson/lunch with Constantia Uitsig wines.After lunch, visit Klein Constantia and the historic GrootConstantia Vineyards for wine tastings.Evening at leisure.
Sunday, February 22: Hotel Constantia Uitsig – B L Travel down the Atlantic coast via Sea Point, Camps Bay, Llandudno, Hout Bay and Chapman’s Peak, through Noordhoek and Kommetjie to Cape Point. Walk up to the lighthouse for the marvelous views over the area where the two oceans meet at the South Westerly tip of the African continent.Continue up the Indian Ocean side of the Peninsula with possible sightings of Chachma baboon troops. Visit Boulders Beach and the Jackass Penguin colony, travel through Simons Town, to the quaint seaside village of Kalk Bay with its art and antique shops for lunch at the Harbour House Restaurant, situated on the rocks at the edge of the fishing harbour.Then continuing on through Muizenberg, where the Rand Lords of the 1800’s holidayed.Dinner at leisure. Monday February 23: Hotel Constantia Uitsig – BLD Explore the Kitstenbosch Botanical Gardens, one of the “Seven Magnificent Botanical Gardens of the World” and representative of the marvelous Cape Floral Kingdom, with a botanical guide.Followed by a gourmet picnic, laid out under a huge oak tree in the gardens.In the afternoon this Hands-On cooking lesson/dinner will focus on the very traditional Cape Malay cuisine.
Tuesday February 24: Hotel Le Quartier Francais www.lequartier.co.za – BL We will leave for Franschhoek to visit Meerlust Estate, owned by the Myburg family who have been on the farm for 8 generations.Every building on this beautiful estate is classified as a national monument. Next on to Waterford Estate to do a very special tasting with Kevin Arnold, owner and winemaker. Lunch at one of the top 10 restaurants of the country, Terroir, where we will have the opportunity to meet chef Michael Broughton.We will continue through, Stellenbosch the second oldest town in South Africa, centre of the wine industry and big university town, and up over the Hells Hoogde Pass, stopping for a wine tasting at Tokara. Evening at leisure.
![]() Margot Janse's crew Wednesday February 25: Hotel Le Quartier Francais – B LD We set off over the Franschhoek Pass, driving through the fruit growing areas of Elgin and Grabouw to the Heaven and Earth Valley, close to Hermanus.After visits to Hamilton Russell and Bouchard Findlayson, we will have lunch at The Marine Hotel, the grand old lady of Hermanus, followed by a stroll along the cliff walk overlooking Walker Bay. Later we will join the owner of Le Quartier Francias, Susan Huxter, at her home, Margot Janse, her award-winning chef will treat us to a cooking demonstration.We will also be joined by a winemaker to discuss food and wine pairing, before dinner. Thursday February 26: Le Quartier Francais – B L D The day starts with sparkling wines at Graham Beck.Continue on to the Helderberg Mountain, the best red wine growing area, to visit Rust en Vrede and Ernie Els.Lunch at GuardianPeakwinery.Then on to Warwick Estate, started by Norma Radcliffe, a Canadian, one of the first women to make wine in South Africa.Dinner at ReubensRestaurant, with Mark Kent, owner/winemaker at Boekenhoutskloof Winery.

Savour a typical South African Braai BBQ with legendary Beyers Truter at world-famous Beyerskloof winery. Then taste wine at Mulderbosch. Dinner at leisure.
![]() ![]() Saturday February 28: B L Enjoy an olive oil tasting at Morgenster estate, followed by a tasting of their two Bordeaux style blends with the wine maker Marius Lartegan. After an extensive tutored tasting at the historic Vergelegen Estate we will have lunch at the estate’s famous Lady Philips Restaurant. Drive to Cape Town to visit Table Mountain. Weather not permitting, we will tour one of the townships outside Cape Town before visiting the historic Mount Nelson Hotel for their sumptuous high tea and a farewell glass of bubbly. Depart for airport or join the Safari extension, program available on website.

Leave for Cape Town airport for domestic flight to Hoedspruit via Johannesburg. You will be met for your 45 minute road transfer to the game lodge.
